Day 2: London

Thursday was a full day of exploring.  The iconic red telephone booths are all over the city. Kayla, in particular, enjoyed spotting them and taking pictures during our time in the city.

Our first stop was to see Big Ben.

Next, we took a tour of Westminster Abbey.

CS Lewis Memorial in the Poet's Corner

The Coronation Chair.  It has been used in every coronation since at least the 1400's.

Next, we walked around St. James Park. It is a beautiful park with a lake in the middle.

Buckingham Palace at the end of the road

Our second and final tour of the day was St. Paul's Cathedral.

The jet lag was starting to kick in, but Kayla and Marc decided to climb the stairs toward the top of the dome. The blue skies from the morning were gone, but it was still quite a view.

The cathedral was stunning, and the audio tour was informative. Seeing the historical buildings here in London is so different than the historical buildings in the United States. These buildings are centuries older and just magnificent.
