2. Framing a basement with only a handheld circular saw is fun.

Replacing a 20yrold circular saw blade when you are 80% complete with a
project is both exciting and depressing. New blade cuts wood like
butter!
4. The circular saw with electrical tape holding the cord together from my grandfather is a great reminder to be careful.

Despite the pleadings of little girls who want to look at the stars at
night, leaving the top off the tent is never a good idea when the chance
of rain is greater than 0%.

many without any hospital trips for our family, yet we still had
significant out-of-pocket expenses. Thanks, health care reform.

The out-of-pocket expenses for Macy's cardiologist appointment were
ridiculous. However, the cardiologist's determination of a healthy heart
with no further checkups was priceless.
8. Leftover sand from a
retaining wall project makes for a great sand box... as long as it is
kept in a wagon that can be removed when mom starts twitching because of
sand everywhere.
9. Time is our most significant resource. We only have a finite amount and we can't go back for do-overs either.
10. My wife, now that she has a "part-time" paying job, really deserves a raise and a vacation.
11. When the winter weather is looking dicey outside, I need to listen to my wife when she tells me to leave work.
12. Buying a vehicle is actually fun when you are in control and not playing the games that the dealership wants you to play.
13. When camping with little girls, simplicity in meals is the key. Otherwise I end up cooking the entire night.
14. Apparently puppies don't sleep through the night and need to be taken outside during the night. (I really had no clue.)
15. I am a completely blessed man.
