Doctor's Visit

Today we took both girls for their yearly check-up. For those of you interested here are their stats:
Kayla is 37" (50%), 30.0 lbs (25-50%), and has a blood pressure of 92/20. I didn't think that was possible!
Macy is 28 1/2" (25-50%) and 18lbs. 10oz. (10-25%). Guess it will be a couple more months before we can switch her forward facing in the car. She has to be 1 year AND 20lbs.
They both had shots today. Kayla had one and Macy had 2. Now they are both in bed and hopefully sleeping it off.

Party Time!

Macy had her birthday party on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and Macy had a good time. She had a lady bug theme, and yes, that's little lady bugs on her outfit. I couldn't resist.

She LOVED her cake. It didn't take her long to get both hands in there. She was so intent on eating as much as she could that I don't think we got a smile out of her. She was quite focused on that cake!

Ice Cream!!!

Macy had her first taste of ice cream on her birthday. We wait until their first birthday before we give them sweets. I know, mean parents. Anyway, it was MUCH harder to wait with the second child when the older one is eating cookies and ice cream. Macy hadn't been feeling well all day, but once she got some of that sugar in her system she went wild. She was laughing so much that other customers were coming by to see her. We'll post party pictures soon.

Happy Birthday Macy!

Thursday was Macy's first birthday, and we took her to the aquarium. She had a great time and so did Kayla. She ran a fever the night before and on and off on her birthday so she wasn't feeling her best. Overall, she really enjoyed herself.

Marc caught this cool picture of one of the beluga whales.
The girls absolutely LOVED hanging out and watching the fish. We had a hard time convincing Kayla to go see other fish. She wanted to stay right here.
We are having her birthday party tomorrow, but we give the girls their gifts on their actual birthday. Kayla was great about not opening everything for Macy, but she helped her and showed her how to open. That takes some self-control from a 3 year old! Kayla did a Build-A- Bear for Macy. She made one for herself while on vacation last year and every time we pass one of the stores she says she wants to make one for Macy. We told her he could make one for her birthday and she never forgot. She is so proud that she made it especially for Macy.
Macy's first baby doll - well first one that is her own. We only have about 300 in the house!

Left Alone

Kayla can be pretty independent when she wants to. Last night she was playing so well in her playroom and Marc and I were able to get some things done around the house. She came to us and said she had something to show us. THIS is what we found. She emptied a total of 12 boxes. She said she "wanted to show us everything." She was very willing to clean it up with our help. Thankfully her boxes are labeled and organized so we got everything put up pretty quickly.

Gardening

I hope Kayla has a green thumb, because if she gets any of her gardening skills from me it will most assuredly NOT be a green thumb.

Lovin' Life

Kayla was so excited to feed Macy a bottle. She talked about it all night until it was time. We just switched Macy to the bottle so Kayla was thrilled.

Kayla loves her new frog galoshes.

Tonight we had our families over for a Mother's Day dinner. We were all hanging out talking and no one noticed that Macy had the box of graham crackers. Kayla had taken them off of the counter. Next thing we know Macy has dumped the box out. We all just started laughing and she sat there in shock. As soon as we started to clean them up she realized what was going on and started stuffing her mouth full!

Having Fun

This is Macy's new favorite toy. She thinks it's the greatest thing. She has only found one button that makes noise, but that's okay with us! If she doesn't figure the others out soon I'm sure Kayla will show her.

Aunt Jackie and Uncle Brandon closed on their new house last week. We helped them move and this was how the girls ate dinner. Kayla LOVED having a picnic with her sister, and Macy actually stayed on the towel. I tried that again the next morning when we were at their house so workers could show up and do some last minute things, but Macy took her fists full of biscuit and started crawling around.
Whatever she can find to empty....
