Gulf Shores Beach Vacation

We all wanted to squeeze in one last beach vacation before school started back up. The weather was absolutely amazing, and since it was just a long weekend, we made no plans outside of sitting at the beach.

The waves were a little smaller this year, but the water was super warm and there was a nice sandbar nearby.

It wouldn't be a beach vacation without ice-cream after a seafood dinner.

We really enjoyed our condo and view

On the way home we stopped by Lamberts for some "throwed rolls." The food was yummy and filling, so we were fueled up for our drive home.

Miscellaneous July

Kayla and Macy performed at one of their favorite places, a childcare place in Roswell.  Macy especially loves being around the litte ones.

Brooke enjoyed her last year at Hide and Seek Camp. Kayla first attended around 3rd grade, and they've all enjoyed their weeks spent at this day camp.

Jelly showed up again.  She snuck out of her house again.

With Kayla heading off to college soon, Macy would now be the driver to clogging. For the last couple of weeks before Kayla left, Macy drove them to clogging so that she'd be comfortable with it when she was on her own.  She still doesn't like driving, but she's doing a great job.

Wicked

Wicked is one of my favorite Broadway shows, and when it came to Atlanta, I knew the girls would love seeing it.  This was also their first time at the Fox Theater.

The show definitely did not disappoint. We all had a great time despite walking around the area looking for dinner because the wait at Mary Mac's Tea Room was too long.

Museum of Illusions and Copper Creek Farms

The girls and I went to the Museum of Illusions in Atlanta.  It was a fun little adventure for the day.

The girls are actually sitting on the floor here.

Jelly is our neighbor's rescue dog.  She's super friendly and came for a visit one day before we knew who her owner was. Macy was happy to get her some food and water.

Sometimes we don't ask questions.

Macy really wanted to visit the sunflower farm again this year.  Most of the activities are geared toward younger kids, but don't we all sometimes enjoy being a kid again?

4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July celebrations are always fun...and HOT. This year Marc volunteered to help unload the fireworks for our church's community event.  Turns out they didn't just need help unloading, but organizing the boxes, hooking them up, and covering them with plastic because of the looming storm.

The church asked everyone to evacuate to their cars because of the nearby lightning.  Brooke and her friends took their dinner to the back of the car, and 15 minutes later we decided to head back out.  The storm stayed off in the distance.

The show is always spectacular with our live orchestra.  They really do a great job.

On the 4th we went to the parade in downtown Woodstock like we usually do.

Macy also rescued this turtle trying to cross the street.

4th of July pool time with cousins is always fun.

We had a great weekend celebrating our country!
