Miscellaneous April

The girls found a cute little turtle in the pool.  They named him Sasquatch.

Late night reader fell asleep with her book open.

8th grade Girls' Group Tea

The water is still cold, but she will find a way to be in the pool.

Brooke decided to organize her clothes in rainbow order.  When you are the youngest of three girls  you have a lot of clothes passed down. She loves the hand-me-downs, but in reality she would wear the same 5 outfits over and over again.

Charlotte's Web

This year's play was extra special since my baby was in the play.  It's always hard being the teacher and choosing a part for your child.  I let Mrs. Beckett and Mrs. Hughes make the call, and they gave her the part of Charlotte.  To say Brooke was thrilled would be an understatement.

She totally rocked her lines, and I couldn't be more proud of her.

This class probably put on the best play I've ever directed. These kids all took ownership of their parts and they knocked it out of the park. I couldn't have been more proud of them at the end of the performance.

And one last class picture on the day when Brooke cashed in to bring Riley to school. She was super excited, and all of the kids love it when a pet gets to come to school.

Pool's Open!

The girls were so excited when we told them the pool was ready for them!

Then they realized how cold it really was! They all swam as fast as they could to get out.  One little one took the long path...

And some kids have a higher tolerance for cold water than the others.

Easter

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
Matthew 28:5-6

But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.
Acts 26:22-23

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
 I Corinthians 15:3-4

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:8-11

Celebrating Kayla

You had a clogging performance in Kennesaw this weekend, and we managed to pull off a pretty big surprise for you.  We we able to get all of your friends together to come watch you perform, then y'all walked around the fair for a while. Watching you walk off with your friends to wander around alone gave us a glimpse into the future.  I hope these friendships stay strong for a lifetime.  You have some jewels as friends.

Never too old to pose with some Disney characters!

Happy 14th Birthday, Kayla!

Today we celebrated this sweet 14 year old. She is so loved by her sisters.

This girl loves her some vegetables.  She's a southern girl through and through.  We were in a pinch for time this evening since her sister had gymnastics, so we took her to Folks for dinner.  We haven't been there in a few years, and when she realized a place like this existed she was pretty excited.

She was given her own Alexa,

and tickets to an Atlanta United soccer game.

Kayla,

We are so proud of the young lady you are becoming.  You are a strong student and hard-worker.  You have found some special girlfriends, and you are a reliable, trustworthy friend yourself. Your sisters adore you, and so do your parents. :) You are faithful to spend time in the Word every day, and you even challenge me to be consistent. Your Daddy and I are so blessed to be the ones raising you. You generally make our jobs easy. ha!

Love you bunches,
Mama

Spring Break 2019

For Spring Break this year, Kayla and Macy both went on a mission trip to Eutaw, Alabama. They spent the week painting, cleaning, and assisting with an afternoon camp for the local children in the area.

And this little one enjoyed being an only child for a few days. :)

She was so excited that we agreed to let her sleep on the couch overnight.

She also helped us vacuum out the pool.  It is almost ready for swimming... except for the fact that it is COLD.

Marc took Friday off and we took Brooke to the Children's Museum in Chattanooga. We haven't been here since she was itty-bitty, so we thought it would be something fun to do without the older girls. Brooke was a bit of a grouch once we got there, but once she decided to change her attitude we had a great time exploring.

Building with Daddy.

Brooke is always up for a good swing...or pulley.

Bubble Time!

This is an ice-cream stuffed cupcake. Chocolate ice-cream inside of a chocolate cupcake. Her life is now complete.

Her sisters come home tomorrow, so now she will have someone else to share all of her words with. 🤣🤣
