Miscellaneous April

We opened the pool.  It's still pretty chilly without the heater, but it's a refreshing sign that warmer days are coming.

We had a fence and more plants installed lining our driveway.  We still need to paint the fence, but we love it.

A couple of Brooke's friends spent the night, and we grabbed frozen yogurt in pajamas and sunglasses. Crazy girls.

Happy 18th Birthday, Kayla!

Wow! Here we are.  Eighteen years old, and officially an adult. You are a kind, thoughtful, introspective, smart, beautiful young lady, and I couldn't be more proud of you.  Your love for the Lord and commitment to staying in the Word is special to see. You are easy to celebrate!

Kayla,

You are a delight and a joy. Watching you grow and blossom this past year has been so special to me. You are becoming more confident in who you are as a child of God, and that confidence shines through. You are a hard worker and a helper. You are always willing to lend a helping hand. Having a front-row seat to the first 18 years of your life has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I can't wait to watch the next season of your life unfold.

Love forever and always,

Mama

Easter 2023

We had Easter lunch at the Barfield's as well as an egg hunt.  I'm not sure how many more years the older two will look for eggs, but I think they had fun.

Fort Worth and Dallas

Fort Worth was our next stop.  We enjoyed the stockyards and the cattle drive.

We ended out trip with a visit to the JFK Museum.  It was a well done, fascinating museum. The assasin was hiding at this window behind boxes.

There is an X on the street marking the spot that JFK was shot in the motorcade.

It was a quick trip, and it was different with Brooke being on her mission trip, but we enjoyed our time in Texas.

Spring Break in Texas - Waco and Dallas

For Kayla's last Spring Break of high school, we decided to go to Texas for a few days. We flew into Dallas.

The next day we headed down to Waco to check out Magnolia.

It was a fun morning, and the girls were able to try In and Out for the first time.  They both enjoyed it.

The Dallas County Courthouse - built of red sandstone in 1892.

We did a scavenger hunt in Dallas, which is always fun.

Lemon lavender, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla with chocolate frosting.  Each one was excellent.
