I'm generally pretty good at diagnosing a sick child. None of us get sick often, and when Kayla was complaining of a sore throat (with white spots) I knew she had strep. Trying to find a pharmacy clinic without a 2 hour wait during flu season is basically impossible. We stumbled across one that could see her in 45 minutes so off Marc went to get her checked out. I was wrong. No strep. The flu. Ugh.
We had already been on the elderberry bandwagon once kids started dropping like flies at school. Our kitchen counter was covered in medicine, and I made everyone take the elderberry daily. They weren't happy about it.
But after just a couple of days this one was feeling MUCH better. She was still pretty tired and slept a lot, but I know the elderberry is what helped keep her case of the flu pretty mild. And thankfully no one in the house caught it. I'd call that a success!
