Family Fun

It's amazing how little it takes to entertain a child. We spend all this money on toys, but all they really need is a couple of buckets, a spoon, and some water. Kayla spent about 30 minutes playing with the water. I ended up taking it away when I caught her dumping water onto her foot.

Kayla loves to hold Macy, and Macy is tolerating it more these days.
Grammie's birthday was yesterday. From the moment we walked in the door Kayla wanted cake. She was so good about just looking at it and not touching it. Unfortunately we waited too long before cutting the cake. She had gone in to "check on it" several times, but temptation got the best of her the last time! At least it was the side of the cake. We gave her the piece she had taken the icing from, but all she ended up eating was the icing! Somehow she managed to still go to sleep an hour and a half later.

It's Snowing In GA

When we first saw snow we hurried outside. I figured that this would be the best we would get.

It did keep snowing, so right after dinner we went back outside. It's near impossible to find winter coats for little ones (we have one that says it fits 6-12 months, but it still swallows Macy). We did the best we could to bundle her up.
Marc and Kayla managed to make a snowman. She was so worried about what happened to it when she woke up this morning.
Daddy and Kayla had some hot cocoa to warm up. It was Kayla's first. She really enjoyed it.

Nap Time

This is what I found one day when checking on Kayla at naptime. She was sleeping with the book on her head. Guess she just can't let go of those books! Great news for a teacher mom!!

Teeth

The teeth have arrived! I know it's hard to see, but they are there. The first one appeared on New Year's Day. The second one came about a week later. For some reason she seems more uncomfortable now that they are finally through. Maybe the top ones aren't far behind.

Children's Museum

We went to Chattanooga, TN for the day on our way to Huntsville, AL for the baptism of our nephew. We visited the Children's Museum and Kayla had an absolute blast!! This museum was awesome. Thanks Lisa for letting me know about it. There is so much for kids to do. Here are pictures of just a few of the things she did.

Miscellaneous Pictures

Kayla and her cousins were watching a movie while everyone else was finishing dinner. See if you can find where Kayla is...
(She emptied out a large box and sat in it. It's in front of the red couch.)
Marc and I decided to buy ourselves some outdoor furniture for Christmas as well as this fire pit. Kayla had such a blast roasting marshmallows (or charring them). She won't eat them, though!

Kayla's Grampie works for Home Depot. We have had this Home Depot hat for a while, but when she found out that it said Home Depot she said she wanted to be just like Grampie and went and got her tool belt and filled it up with all of her tools.

When Macy wakes up she likes to find things to play with. We don't put toys in her crib or she'd never go to sleep. The bumper isn't always tied on well, I guess. We've found her doing this several times.

Kayla took a bath in our bathtub the other night. Somehow she remembered that we had a whirlpool tub and wanted Marc to turn the jets on. It's been at least 8 or 10 months since she's been in there with the jets on, but somehow she remembered. She had a great time playing with all of the bubbles it made.
