A Day at the Zoo

It has been a long time since we have made a trip down to the zoo, but I couldn't pass up a few free tickets with my sister and nieces.

I don't know why the Atlanta Zoo was set up to put the stinkiest animals right up front as you enter, but they sure are beautiful!

The pandas were out and playing today.  We usually just see them sleeping in the sun, so this was a real treat.

We watched this one for a little while, and then we noticed that she had TWO babies clinging to her.  That was so neat to watch!

Debating whether they want to get wet or not.

Done debating.

A fun day at the zoo will still wear her out.

May House Happenings

Things are moving right along with the new house.  Our current home is on the market, so that's been fun. Or not so much.  The girls have done a good job keeping things picked up around the house.  Think this is the beginning of a beautiful new habit??

Front.

Back.

It was finally time to walk around and add verses to the walls of our home.  This time the girls were old enough to write their own verses.

We also helped Marc run wire for the house. The girls did a great job working together on this.

Taking a little break.

Some of our contractors came and made notes on the studs. Macy came back a few days later and wrote messages back.

πŸ˜‚She cracks me up!πŸ˜‚

Siding is up!

More rain. More mud. Never ending.

Dead critters thanks to hubby. He hates these guys, but I'm grateful he is still willing to take care of them.

We are headed out of town for vacation in a couple of days. I'm sure things will look quite different when we return!

Happy 11th Birthday, Macy!

Macy turns ELEVEN! I sure do love this quiet, sensitive, HILARIOUS, cuddling girl of mine. To know her is to love her. She just goes with the flow, and is always up for an adventure - especially if that adventure involves traveling.

I worked really hard on a creative breakfast for her. πŸ˜‚

Her sisters know here well, and they gave her a huge pack of gel pins.  Macy is always drawing and doodling on things.

We opted not to do birthday parties this year, but we did swing by and grab a couple of her friends for lunch at Moe's, her favorite.

We surprised her with cheese fondue and dessert at The Melting Pot. She was pretty excited.

Before.

After. And I can't blame her.

Somehow I only managed a picture of the box, but we gave her a gray, fuzzy chair for her room at the new house.

Some of your favorites include:
cheese, Moe's, reading, cheese, sweet tea, snuggling, cheese, dancing, and art

Happy birthday sweet Macy! You are such a joy in our lives.  Your sense of humor (and the timing of it) keeps us laughing. You are a beautiful girl on the inside and out. Your daddy and I are so blessed to call you ours. Keep shining bright.  The Lord has great things planned for you.

End of the Year Recitals and Performances

Well, we have just about made it through May.  It is always a busy time of year, but it is so fun watching our girls show off the things they have learned over the year.

We started off with Macy's dance recital.

Next up was Brooke at her gymnastics showcase.

And we finished things off with the clogging showcase.  Kayla was a spoon in "Be Our Guest."

Since Macy has only been clogging a short time, she just joined in the studio routines. She is really loving clogging too!

A couple of friends came to watch their showcase.

And we ate a late dinner when we were finished. The girls sat at one table, and Marc and I enjoyed a little date at a side table. :) I love watching the girls do their thing, but I'm looking forward to a summer off of commitments. Well, other than the small commitment we have to build a house!

Dollywood with Friends

With our season passes to Dollywood we were given day tickets to bring a friend.  We have known the Windham family for 9 years now through school, so we asked if they wanted to join us on a quick trip to Tennessee.  We had a great time with them, and the girls enjoyed having a friend to hang out with.

Friends for 9 years.

These funny girls have been friends for 7 years.

I apparently didn't get a picture of the two little ones, but they've been friends for several years now. We love our Windhams!
