Happy 4th Birthday Macy!

Macy's 4th birthday was Sunday and her party was last Friday.  She has been looking forward to her birthday for the last six weeks.  She knows that after Kayla's birthday it is her birthday, but she has no concept of time. 

She wanted to have a Tangled cake, so off to our favorite bakery we went. 

This was the first party where she invited some of her friends.  Other than the Andersons, because they are more like family, Owen, Joy, and Brooks were able to come help her celebrate.

She informed me the day before her party that we did not get her pinata yet.  She assumed that since Kayla had a pinata at her party she was supposed to have one as well. I don't know what it is with my girls and thinking every party has to have a pinata. I blame that on Curious George.

Little Buddies

Brooke decided that she wanted a diaper change right in the middle of things.  Silly girl!

Nana gave Macy a Rapunzel costume and hair. Macy thought that was the greatest thing.

On Sunday we celebrated Macy's birthday with breakfast at Dunkin Donuts before church.  We had pizza for lunch followed by presents at home. The girls spent the night at my mom's house that night since I had an early morning appointment downtown the next day.

Macy, 

I am so proud of the little girl you are becoming.  You keep us on our toes and laughing.  Your daddy and I are so thankful that God has entrusted us with raising you.  You fill our days with smiles.  You have grown up so much in the last few weeks, and I am excited to see what the next months have in store for us.  We love you so much!

Randomness

The month of May has been CRAZY, but we have managed to have some fun. The girls have played dress up and put on many shows for us (even when they are supposed to be in bed).

We have eaten out way too much, and I have realized what picky eaters I really do have. I did learn that Brooke likes to chew on apples. I could not get this one away from her!

The girls chose a trip to Chuck E. Cheese for a reward.  I was reminded in the first five minutes why we rarely go there.  The girls had a good time, and it was Brooke's first time to play, but I will be just fine if we don't go back for a long, long time.

Soccer season has finished up.  

Brooke has learned how to blow whistles.

The girls had a dinner picnic while watching Tangled.  They absolutely love that movie.  

Macy finished up her first year of Cubbies and received an award for learning all of her verses.  She has done such a great job and Marc and I have enjoyed being the listeners for her class.

The girls received trophies at the last soccer game.  Macy was given one because of her help when several teammates were not at a game.

And Kayla sang at church one evening with her choir.  

There are so many other things we did this month, but that will have to wait for another post. 

Graduation

We had another graduation last week.  This time it was Kayla's turn to graduate Kindergarten. I am so proud of her and all she has accomplished this year.  She is reading like a champ. In fact we laid in bed this morning for about half an hour snuggling and each reading our own books.  It was wonderful.  I am so glad that she is showing a love for reading like her mama.  She is also doing great in math and she often amazes me at how she figures things out in her head.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year with my three little girls. They surprised me with homemade cards and a kindle.  We had relaxing day and a cook-out for dinner with our moms. I am so thankful to be the mother of these three precious girls.

Homeschooling

Well, we have finished our first year of homeschooling and it was such a great year.  I am so thankful for the King's Academy where Kayla can go to school two days a week and where I can teach her here at homethe remaining three days.  I love the flexibility we have and Kayla is thriving. Kings has been the perfect balance for our family. Kayla has incredible teachers, made great friends, is in a Christian environment, and I am able spend time teaching her myself.  That degree in Early Childhood Education is coming in handy these days!

Even Macy is starting to ask to do schoolwork now.

Homeschooling allows for doing school in our pajamas if we want to. :)

We have had a great first year, but we are ready to start enjoying our summer break.  I can't believe I now have a 1st grader!

Dance Recitals

Last weekend the girls had their dance recitals.  Kayla's was Thursday night and Macy's was Saturday morning.  They were both so excited to dance on stage in their costumes and they both did such a wonderful job.  I love being the mommy of little girls!

This was Macy's first recital.  She did such a good job remembering her dances.

Marc's Graduation

Marc had his graduation and hooding ceremony last weekend.  Kayla and Macy wanted to come and watch and they did a great job sitting through the speakers.  I was very proud of them.  When their daddy was called they both clapped as loud as they could. It was so cute and they were so proud of him even if they really had no idea what he had accomplished.

We are all so proud of Marc and all he has accomplished.  We are also very thankful that he is DONE!

Soccer Substitute

We have just completed one of the busiest weeks of our adult lives.  I am tired of being away from home and having to eat out.  I NEED my regular routine.  With all of the end of the year activities we won't get back into our routine for a couple more weeks, but at least I can breathe again.  I have several blog posts I need to write, but since I have grandparents wanting to see these pictures I thought I would start here for the evening. 

Kayla had a soccer game this afternoon.  The Lady Pandas have 7 players and rotate out so that 4 play at a time.  With dance recitals also this weekend we were down to 4 players.  A couple of days ago we got message that one girl on the team was pretty sick and would be out of the game.  That left 3 players.  Marc and I had already talked about shortening the game or sessions because a 3:30PM game for 5 and 6 year olds is tough, especially if they had to be on the field the entire time with no teammates to trade out.  Mark A. happened to have an old orange uniform from several years ago and offered to bring that for Macy to use. I of course didn't want to mention it to Macy until we spoke with the opposing coach.  That coach wanted to play the full time and none of his players wanted to switch teams to even things out, so little Macy put on a uniform and joined in.  To say she was excited would be an understatement.  She missed the age cut-off this year by about 4 months.  She had such a great time and did amazing for a 3 year old who has never been to a soccer practice before. I was so proud of her.  The girls were WORN OUT by the end and went to bed quite nicely this evening.

She got right in the middle of everything.  Of course she had no idea which way to kick the ball, but most of the other kids don't either. HA!

She's so little!

Now we just have to find a way to explain to her that she won't be playing in the last two games of the season.  I know Kayla enjoys soccer, but I am SO ready for it to be over for the year.
