Bed Head

Gardening

I hope Kayla has a green thumb, because if she gets any of her gardening skills from me it will most assuredly NOT be a green thumb.

Lovin' Life

Kayla was so excited to feed Macy a bottle. She talked about it all night until it was time. We just switched Macy to the bottle so Kayla was thrilled.

Kayla loves her new frog galoshes.

Tonight we had our families over for a Mother's Day dinner. We were all hanging out talking and no one noticed that Macy had the box of graham crackers. Kayla had taken them off of the counter. Next thing we know Macy has dumped the box out. We all just started laughing and she sat there in shock. As soon as we started to clean them up she realized what was going on and started stuffing her mouth full!

Having Fun

This is Macy's new favorite toy. She thinks it's the greatest thing. She has only found one button that makes noise, but that's okay with us! If she doesn't figure the others out soon I'm sure Kayla will show her.

Aunt Jackie and Uncle Brandon closed on their new house last week. We helped them move and this was how the girls ate dinner. Kayla LOVED having a picnic with her sister, and Macy actually stayed on the towel. I tried that again the next morning when we were at their house so workers could show up and do some last minute things, but Macy took her fists full of biscuit and started crawling around.
Whatever she can find to empty....

My Baby is Growing Up!

Macy is 11 months old today. That means that in ONE more month she will be a year old!! I thought time flew with Kayla, but it's gone so much faster with child #2. Anyone else feel the same?

Birthday Party

Here are a couple of pictures from Kayla's party. For some reason she wanted to wear her bib for cake. She rarely ever wears one, but I guess she anticipated getting messy.

Oh So Tired...

Let me start off by saying that when the car is turned off, Macy wakes up. It hardly ever fails. She was so tired tonight that she stayed asleep even when Marc got her out of the car and through Kayla's noisiness. Somehow she managed to sleep through being laid on the changing table and Marc getting her pants off. She woke up when he started to change her diaper. Whose child is this???

Jackie's Wedding

I don't have too many pictures of the wedding and reception. If I get a link from my uncle (the photographer) I'll post it here. We were too busy with everything going on to think about the camera. She almost didn't do her flower girl duties. She had been practicing and talking about it for weeks, but when it came down to it she wanted to stay with Macy. Macy stayed with Grampie (Marc's Dad) in the back of the sanctuary. Marc finally got her to come down the aisl by telling her to run and give her flowers to Mommy. She did and everyone got a good chuckle. She did goof off at the front for a few minutes before she saw Grammie (Marc's Mom) who was on stand-by. She squealed and ran to her. They quickly left. At the reception Kayla was the life of the party. She went around grabbing different people to dance with. She really didn't want to leave, but at 10:30 we sent her home with Grammie and Grampie. She had such fun.

Rehearsal Dinner

The kids did great over a 3 day weekend of crazy schedules. We're still trying to adjust back, but they had a good time. At the rehearsal dinner Macy ate for pretty much an hour and a half straight. She slowed down at times, but that girl can pack it in! How does she stay so tiny?? Here she is sucking on a noodle.

Kayla's Birthday

We had a lot of family in town for Jackie's wedding, so we all met up for lunch to celebrate Kayla's birthday. We had a great lunch at La Parilla and Kayla loved wearing the sombrero.
They brought out this fake cake with a sparkler on the top. Unfortunately, before anyone could do anything, she grabbed the sparkler as soon as it was out. If it were a candle she wouldn't have touched it, but she didn't know better. Her hands hurt so much and blistered pretty much immediately. Thankfully I had my nurse sister to let me know that it wasn't too bad. To a mama it was really bad. I took my personal nurse to the drug store to buy some burn medication. It still looks bad, but I guess it could have been worse.

We went back to my mom's house for cake and some presents. Marc asked Kayla if having some of her cake would make her feel better. She thought for a second and said "no, opening presents would make me feel better." HA! After opening a couple of presents she looked at Marc and said, "I feel better."

I made the mistake of mentioning that she could blow out a candle on her cake. She LOVES to blow out candles, but given what happened at the restaurant she started crying again. Her party is actually this weekend, so we'll see if she wants a candle on that cake or not.
