The girls are in a bad habit of playing as soon as we put them to bed. Sometimes we will let them play, but after 9:00 they have to go to sleep. On school nights there is supposed to be no playing. Well Kayla seems to think that they can play whenever they want as long as there is an 8 on the clock. Since Macy is sick and Kayla woke up early this morning we really wanted them to go to sleep so Marc said he would stay in their room until they fell asleep. Sometimes he
falls asleep lies on the floor until they do. Tonight after the usual routine of books, prayers, and rocking they were pretending to be asleep so he put them in bed and then sat back down in the rocking chair (which they didn't realize). After a few minutes this conversation happened:
Kayla: flips over and sees clock. She pops up and says "hey, look Macy, there is a 7 on the clock. It's not bedtime, it's playtime."
Macy: sits up, sees Marc sitting there, and says, "no, look Kayla, it's bedtime."
Kayla: "No, it's really playtime."
Macy: "No, LOOK Kayla, it's bedtime!"
Kayla: "Mommy and Daddy were so silly, they put us to bed with a 7 on the clock. We have time to play."
Marc: clears throat
Kayla: quickly turns to look at Marc and says, "oh, just teasing" and immediately lies down
