Gingerbread Houses and Caroling

Every year the gingerbread house making gets easier and easier. Other than squeezing out the icing for them we did nothing to help.  It was their creations.

I'm not sure where we were headed for this. Marc thinks it was before we went caroling, but two of the girls changed clothes.  Brooke cracks us up sometimes with what she picks out to wear with her leggings.  She LOVES wearing leggings.

The girls wanted to go caroling again this year. It has been a busy season and we didn't make plans very well to do this. So one Saturday morning we looked in the pantry for what goodies we could make. We were able to put together a nice little spread and take some things to our neighbors and friends in the neighborhood.  The girls sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Away in a Manger." Every neighbor was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the interruption to their afternoon.

A Few Random Pictures

Macy is usually trying to avoid the camera, but somehow we managed this picture of our sweet girl.

Daddy and his girls.

Silly Daddy and his silly kids. I love how Macy's silly face is to go to sleep. She cracks us up sometimes!

Brooke has decided that the build-a-bear glasses are her latest accessory. Between the pink glasses and pink headband she is usually wearing she is quite the fashonista.

And finally my little Indian girl. She wanted to dress up for the Awana Thanksgiving night. I think the outfit turned out cute for some last minute item gathering.

Fall Afternoon Fun

Marc raked up a nice pile of leaves and the girls were itching to get in it.

Get ready....Get set....

GO!

One more time!

With so many trees in our back yard we have no shortage of leaves to play in. The girls are thrilled about that.

Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken by one of my sister's friends. It was a little chilly outside, but despite the red cheeks and hands the kids did a great job.

Random Things I Want to Remember

Macy was reading a story and the word fragile was in it.
Me: Macy, do you know what fragile means?
Macy: Yes. Like girls. Girls are fragile.

At chick-fil-a the girls (especially Brooke) is always looking for the little dinner mints. One morning I took her out to breakfast after dropping the girls off at school. She made sure to grab 5 mints for everyone in the family.  We kept them in my purse until after school.  Later that morning I noticed that she was eating a mint and asked her about it.  She said "it's Kayla's mint. Don't tell her!". She knows where Kayla stashes her mints in the car and she took one from the stash so she would still have hers to eat later. That afternoon we picked the girls up from school and as soon as they got in the car Brooke asked for the mints in my purse to give to her sisters.

This little stinker has figured out how to make herself some popcorn.  She shocked me one day while I was teaching. She had gone in the pantry, opened the bag, moved the stool so she could reach the microwave, put the bag in and pushed the popcorn button. She was so proud of herself. The popcorn may have to find it's way back to a higher shelf in the pantry again.

Brooke got hit with a toy in Sunday School.  It hit her in the nose, but she was fine.  I was trying to figure out what happened.  Usually she is very good about the details.
Me: Brooke, did someone throw a toy at you.
B: No
Me: Did you throw a toy at yourself?
B: Brooke wouldn't throw a toy at herself, silly!

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Feast at King's and a reader's theater of Stone Soup from Macy and her class.

Sleeping Babies

I love watching my girls sleep.  Every night I go back into their room to kiss them one last time. Sometimes I just have to take a picture. :)

Obviously the baby was being so noisy that Kayla had to stick her pinky in it's mouth to calm it down. Oh how many times I have done that with my babies!

Sweet snuggles.

Stone Mountain

The girls and I surprised Marc with a little adventure for his birthday.  We headed out to Stone Mountain for the day and had such a wonderful time. It has been a long time since we had done anything other than the laser show. They had a little ropes course that all three girls enjoyed but Brooke was pretty obsessed with it. She probably went through the course 20 times.

She did the zip line one time and that was enough for her.

Kayla and Macy LOVED it.

The older two climbed the rock wall.  On the first try Kayla made it about halfway up before she decided it was too high.  Macy, who is not a fan of heights at all, went about 1/4 of the way up.

Marc took Kayla on this tree top adventure.  She loved it. Macy had no interest in doing it.  Again, the heights thing.

The Indian Festival was going on this weekend as well.  We took a quick stop over to see some of the Native American dances, walk in some tee-pees, and learn about a different culture.  My great-grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian so I kept telling the girls that these were there people. Even my little blue eyed blond haired girl is part Cherokee.

In all of these years living in Georgia and visiting Stone Mountain I had never been to the top.  We took the sky-lift up.  The leaves are beginning to change and it was beautiful up there.

And it was quite windy and chilly. Marc snapped a couple of pictures before we were all ready to head back inside.

We had time for one last adventure and the girls wanted to return to the ropes course. This time Kayla made it up the wall twice to ring the bell and Macy made it about halfway up!

We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but it was a perfect day.  We so enjoyed our little family adventure. I didn't get pictures of everything, but we also played in the barn and had a great time shooting balls at each other. It's been a while since I have laughed that hard. We also had a picnic lunch on the lawn and enjoyed a train ride around the mountain. I have a feeling that a Stone Mountain visit is going to become an annual fall adventure for our family.
