We headed to Charleston for our Fall Break this year. The weather was chilly and overcast when we arrived, but that didn't stop these girls from wanting to head out to the beach. We stayed on the Isle of Palms, and we enjoyed walking to the beach and around the city area.
The water was a bit chilly!
We spent our first full day in South Carolina at the beach. It was windy and chilly. The waves were a bit rough, and we couldn't go out far due to the red flag, but there was plenty of shallow water to ride some waves with.
The sun did start peeking through the clouds a little.
We usually find ourselves on the Gulf for beach vacations. The girls weren't use to the harder sand and the drastic change between high and low tide, but they sure did enjoy running around and playing paddleball. That quickly became one of their favorite beach activities.
They insisted on a stop by the pool, but they didn't stay for long. The pool water was much colder than the already chilly ocean water.
Day 1 was filled with relaxing and having fun at the beach. We ended the day with a walk on a Charleston pier and stumbled upon a playground. The girls are always up for a new playground to explore. We searched out some ice-cream and headed back to our condo.
