New York City Day 3

We awoke Saturday morning to snow! Of course the girls were much more excited than I was. Snow doesn't stop life in NYC, so it quickly turned into a dirty, slushy mess. The hotel breakfast left much to be desired, so we decided to walk down to Chick-fil-A. The girls enjoyed watching the bustle of the city from inside.

We didn't have any specific plans for today, so we decided to head up to Central Park.

There was probably about 3-4" of snow and the girls had a great time playing in it.

It obviously wasn't a very pretty day, but Central Park is still beautiful, and even though I'd rather be inside with a fire and a blanket, I'm glad that we were able to have some snow while we were there. There is something magical about it.

And of course there had to be a snowball fight. Daddy probably started it anyway.

We then took a walk to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty. The girls thought this was the only opportunity they would have to see here standing in the harbor, but of course more surprises were still to come.

The SeaGlass Carousel at Battery Park was a neat twist on carousels. The girls enjoyed this little ride.

We decided to check out Chelsea Market for lunch. We found a place called Chelsea Creamline. Since there were no kids meals I ate a little of everything the girls ordered.

Brooke was thrilled that she could order pancakes. She's not the easiest kid to find something she likes to eat.

We then visited the World Trade Center Memorials. The girls have asked a lot of questions recently about what happened that day, so it was good for them to visit and gain a bit more perspective about that day.
