The Mile High City

We had a wonderful visit out west in Denver, Colorado. This was the girls' first airplane ride and everything went wonderful. You can see how excited they were. My advice to others: bring lots of activities, a laptop to play a movie, and plenty of food.

The peanuts were a huge hit

The weather was great the day we arrived and then stayed rainy and overcast every day until the day we left. Guess we'll have to take another trip out there. We visited Garden of the Gods. It reminded us a lot of Red Rock Canyon in Vegas. It was such a pleasant morning letting the girls run around outside and explore. We wanted to drive up Pikes Peak, but the visibility was only 2 car lengths, so we decided it wouldn't be the best decision to try and go up.

Kayla insisted that this was a volcano and was going to erupt.

We saw many elk in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The weather was a little icky, but it was still a beautiful drive.

Kayla really wanted to find some snow on "snow mountain" to play in. She was so excited when we found this play area. She LOVED throwing snowballs almost as much as her daddy! The snow wasn't really soft and powdery (more like a snow cone), but it's a whole lot more than we get here in Georgia!

There is an field near my aunt and uncle's house that has is full of prairie dogs. To me they are so cute, but to my uncle they are just another rodent. I guess it all comes down to where you are from.

One of our high-school friends moved out to Colorado after she got married. We were able to meet them for dinner. They are expecting their first baby this summer, and I hope my girls didn't scare them. They weren't exactly themselves that night. Macy was wanting nothing to do with me and only wanted Daddy. For those of you that know her you know that is really out of character. Plus Kayla was tired and cranky.
