Graduation Party #2

Saturday morning we hosted another graduation party for Kayla. Back to back parties worked out well because we used most of the same decorations and the house was already clean. We enjoyed a brunch from Maple Street Biscuit Company.

I wish we had taken more pictures, but we are grateful for the impact each of these people have had on her life.

Graduation Party with Friends

Kayla and her friends wanted to have an evening to celebrate together.  We hosted everyone at our house with help from another family. The girls just wanted to hang out and play yard games.  The rain mostly held off, and they had a lovely time together.

A tradition at our school is for the seniors to paint their uniform skirts to represent where they are headed on the next part of their journey.

It was a lovely evening full of fun with friends.

Senior Sunday and Senior Blessing

Senior Season has begun.  On Sunday the seniors were recognized during the service.

Our church also hosted a Senior Blessing night.  This is a night of encouragement and challenge as these teenagers leave high school and head to the next phase of life. It was a highly emotional night, but I hope it is a night that won't soon be forgotten.

Southern National Clogging Classic

We headed to Gatlinburg for another weekend of clogging. This competition is usually at Dollywood over 2 days, but this year it was at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, and it was scheduled for one day.  We knew this would be a long competition day, and we had to head towards home that evening because of Sunday was Senior Service at church.

Juniors:
Hoedown - 1st
Traditional Formations - 4th

Seniors:
Line  - 3rd place
Traditional Line - 2nd
Formations Line - 2nd
Hoedown - 1st
Precision - 1st
Traditional Formations - 3rd

How they knew they should look for the picture dad wanted to take.

How they really felt about taking the picture dad wanted to take.

Duos didn't start until after 9. Brooke and Neko were tired from a long day, but they did great.

Kayla and Gracie enjoyed their Dolly Parton routine.

They did awesome and pulled out a 1st place win! They were totally shocked.

The competition ended after 11, and we hit the road. It was a long night, but we grabbed a few hours of sleep north of Chattanooga before heading straight to service the next morning.
