Our summer vacation took us to Maine this year. We were able to vacation with my side of the family. We always prefer to take the walk to the concourses in Atlanta rather than riding the tram. It's our favorite part of the airport.

Maine Vacation Day 1 - Atlanta to Portland to Acadia
After landing in Portland, we started making our way up toward Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. After a morning of travel, we made broke up the drive with a few stops. Our first stop was Old Fort Western in Augusta. This fort was built in 1754 and used in the French and Indian War.
We enjoyed walking around Capitol Park.
We made one last quick stop at the Old Post Office built in the last 1880s.

Summer College Visits
While Brooke was at camp this year I took the older two on a couple more college visits. We visited Covernant and Shorter. Kayla really enjoyed Covenant, but she marked Shorter off of her list quickly. I don't think much has been updated on that campus since I toured it 26 years ago.
Miscellaneous July
Macy's friends got togther for an Escape Room. They made it out!
W also enjoyed going to an Atlanta United game.
You never know what these two are up to, but I'm thankful they enjoy each other.

CCA Nationals
Our weekend was spent in Knoxville at the CCA Showdown of Champions.
PowerTaps Starz Kids: This was their last competition competing in the Starz category, and they received all platinum awards, including one routine that they put on stage for the first time this weekend. The new routine actually came within .01 points of being the highest scoring Traditional Line (out of 14 routines)! They also were 1st Runner Up for Overall Starz Team by .02 points!
PowerTaps Juniors competed in the Senior category, and there was some really tough competition on the stage this weekend.
Hoedown: 1st place and Grand Champion
Traditional Standing Line: 3rd place
Traditional Moving Line: 3rd place
Standing Line: 3rd place
Precision: 1st place and Grand Champion
Moving Line: 4th place
The score on their Precision routine put them in the dance off for a National Title. They put everything they had into their performance, and it was amazing to watch this team up on stage. While they didn't take home the National title, they had an experience of a lifetime.
What an exciting weekend we had in Knoxville. The girls were amazing, their teams were amazing, and we have the best coaches in the clogging field. We're super proud of these kids and what they have accomplished.

Fourth of July!
We enjoyed the 4th of July Celebration at our church again this year. They do such a great job with this event.
The celebration at church was actually on July 3rd, so we went to see fireworks at Costco (where we can see several shows in the distance), and all of a sudden is started pouring. We were so glad we didn't end up going somewhere else to watch fireworks because we could jump in our car quickly and head home. We had the dog too, which was another layer of the adventure.
First stop though, McDonalds.
