Hilton Head - Day 4-5

We packed in a lot into our last two days. Marc and the girls (especially Kayla) love to play paddleball on the beach.

Brook was so excited about this pink, foldable bucket she bought before the trip.

She's always digging a hole and filling it with water for her feet. the bucket made this easier to keep the water in the hole.

Naps on the beach are always nice, however, I can guarantee that lying on your stomach in these chairs is not very comfortable.

A summer trip to the beach isn't complete without some yummy donuts.

I may have forgotten to mention in the post about the competition, but Macy landed on the side of her foot during one routine. She wasn't able to compete the remainder of her routines due to the pain, and we're fairly certain she has a stress fracture. In fact, the competition was full of mishaps - a director so sick she stayed at the hotel, two dancers with broken bones, and one dancer didn't pack a uniform so there was a scramble to have the team borrow from another team. I think there were a couple other crazy things too. Anyway, we called Macy's orthopedist and they said if she can walk she could wait until her appointment next week to have it looked out.  We ended up ordering a boot off of Amazon for her to wear around town, and it immensely helped with her pain level.

It's been a week of sweet memories.

Hilton Head - Day 3

Tonight we picked up dinner from one of our favorite places and ate it outside at our condo before heading to the beach.

The girls started playing tetherball, and pretty soon they had a few extra players.

Boogie boarding will always be their favorite.

Hilton Head - Day 2

It was another lovely day at the beach. We are really enjoying our shibumi shade. It was well worth the investment.

Some of us prefer double shade, though.

Reading is my favorite thing to do on the beach. I try to only read over the summer and during breaks because I can easily get drawn into a book.  The girls enjoy reading here too.

You have to get to dinner early on the island in the summer.  If you arrive after 5, there will be a wait.

Marc found a fun gelato place with flavored cones.

I'm partial to the gulf, but I'll take a sunset of water anywhere.

Hilton Head - Day 1

After the clogging competition we headed to the beach. We stopped by a history center while we waited for check-in.  The girls enjoyed making the Venus fly trap close up on a blade of grass.

The girls finally made it to the beach.

It was a great first day at the beach.  The girls played hard, then this once curled up for some quiet time after her shower.
