Easter

Luke 24:1-6 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright, the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!

Happy 17th Birthday, Kayla!

Seventeen. Seventeen years of raising you, teaching you, guiding you, and watching you blossom into a beautiful young lady.  We couldn't be prouder of this girl.

Kayla,

You have started to spread your wings, and your junior year has been a time of growth and learning.  You have learned how to balance high school classes, dual-enrollment classes, working a couple days a week, and clogging. Having a front-row seat watching you this year has been a joy.  You are kind, smart, compassionate, and most importantly, you love Jesus. I am beyond blessed to be your mother, and I'm so excited to see what your 17th-year hold for you.

Big Shanty Festival

Big Shanty Festival is always a fun performance, but it was windy and chilly.

It was chilly enough today for one more fire of the season.

Spring Break: Asheville - Biltmore Estate

I've wanted to take the girls to the Biltmore Estate at Christmastime, but it hasn't worked out yet.  While the estate is more beautifully decorated for Christmas, we still enjoyed our visit.

Spring Break: Asheville

We've traveled to the Asheville area several times recently for clogging, but we haven't been able to spend time in the city.  We decided that we would take a few days over Spring Break to visit and explore.

Travel with teenagers.

We stayed at the cutest cabin, and Mittens came to visit when we arrived.

Macy insisted on picking up a cat toy when we picked up groceries.  They had a lot of fun with Mittens.

We're always on the lookout for local donut shops when we travel.

We did a scavenger hunt around the city. It was super fun exploring and solving clues along the way.

This iron eluded us for too long.

We finished the scavenger hunt in about an hour and a half.  Macy's legs were worn out and hurting, so we rested at the soda shop while Marc went to grab the car.

We had fun zip-lining as a family for the first time. Macy wasn't a huge fan of the experience, but she was a good sport.

The sky bridges were not anything near a favorite on my list.

Our little cabin.

We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Honey Tupelo downtown.
