Kayla's Wisdom Teeth Removal

I have Kayla's permission to post these pictures. :)

She had her wisdom teeth out, and it has been a tough recovery.  I guess we're always learning out ways through things with the oldest child.  I think not keeping ice on as consistently as we should have the first 48 hours made her recovery more difficult. She was so swollen that she couldn't eat much for several days.  I think we picked up a smoothie from every place we could around here just so she could have some variety.

Brooke enjoyed the extra time at home to work on her macaroons.

Kayla was so swollen, and it was well over a week before she started to look and feel like herself again.

Marc thought her swollen cheeks looked like her 1-year-old picture.

We're all glad that this is behind us now, and hopefully, her sisters will have an easier recovery.

Amicalola Falls

Marc and the girls went to Pelicans for some snow cones and decided to take Riley with them.  I think she enjoyed her pup cup.

It was time for a summer family adventure, and we decided to take the girls to Amicalola Falls. First we stopped at a hole-in-the-wall place for barbecue.  The food was pretty good, but the girls enjoyed the cats roaming the patio the best.

Those 604 steps were no joke.  Halfway up I was ready to turn around, but we pushed through and enjoyed our views from the top.

Our legs were so jiggly on the way down!

It was a fun family afternoon.  I love spending time with these people!

Hilton Head - Part 4

No beach vacation would be complete without some family pictures.

Hilton Head - Part 3

One of the things we like to do on vacation is find a fun, local place for donuts.  The Purple Cow was the only one on the island, and they were so busy that you had to place an order the night before in order to be guaranteed donuts the next day.

We drove into Sea Pines and stopped to visit the local horses.

Hilton Head Lighthouse

A storm was rolling in, but the girls still had fun with it until it was time to make a dash back to the condo.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

Hilton Head - Part 2

The walk to the beach from our condo was a long one.  The pictures online were deceiving, but it was still nice to stay within walking distance of the beach.  The pool stayed a bit crowded, but the girls did enjoy it a couple of times.

Playing at low tide is a favorite,

and so is boogie boarding.

Hilton Head - Part 1

We decided to vacation at Hilton Head after the clogging competition. We haven't been to this island before, so we enjoyed checking out a new place.

Going out to dinner proved to be a challenge.  Every seafood restaurant we wanted to visit had at least an hour wait.  We did decide to wait at Captain Woody's, and we all enjoyed our meal. They had some fun lawn games to help pass the time.

Riverfront Clogging Classic - Mt. Pleasant, SC

We had a fun day of competition in South Carolina. The girls walked away with three 1st places, one 2nd place. Kayla's team took home Grand Champion Line Formations for "No Roots."
